Air Travel Gains Figures released today by United Air Lines showed a gain of 6.S per cent In revenue passengers miles flown In the first nine months of this year over the total for the same 19S7 period. Last year the total was 03,971,693 revenue passengers miles. The Increase was made principally on the Pacific coast and Chicago to New York routes, the company stated. Showing a gain of 2 per cent over last year"s figure. Untted's mall and express pound- miles totaled 4,626,000,000 In the first nine months of this year. This Is one-third of the nation's air cargo and makes the company the world's largest aero cargo carrier, a press release said.
