Secretary Denounces 'Reac tionary Interests' for Mis representing Farm Situa tion' Welcomes Issue WASHINOTON, Oct. 37. (UP) Secretary of Agriculture Henry A Wallace today scathingly denounced "reactionary Republican interests" for "misrepresenting" the farm situa tion and accepted the challenge of O. O. P. leaders to make New Deal farm policies an Issue In the Novem ber B elections. The cabinet officer made hla at tack at a presa conference after he bad conferred with President Roose velt. He singled out Sen. Arthur Capper, R., Kansas, and Chairman John D. M. Hamilton of the RepubH .can national committee for crltl clsm. and called on all Republicans to "take a stand" on the issue. Resent Had Advice "Non-cooperatora have every right to resent the bad advice they re ceived last spring from the Liberty League and from prominent Republi cans, who did everything they could to get them to stay out of the farm program." Wallace said, 'Farmers who have followed such false leadership and who took bad advice now have every right to ask those false leaders to cease misrep resenting the national farm pro gram." Doris Alexander, 31. The Jury deliberated for two and one half hours before returning their verdict, which provides for t sentence of from five years to life for May and from two to five years for Mrs. Zoffel. They will ap pear for sentencing Saturday. Attorneys for the defendants served notice they would appeal the verdict.
