October 11. will provide splendid opportunity for parents to learn Just what Is being done for their boys snd girls In this modern and highly spec ialised school. Each parent la to be given the opportunity to "enroll" and go through exactly the same schedule that his child does every day. ex cepting that periods will be shorten ed and the parents will not recite. There will be seven 10-mlnute per iods. Half of each period allowing the teacher to explain briefly the contents, alma and methods of the course, while In the second half the parent may ask as many questions ns he wishes. "Enrollees" are asked to be In their seats In the auditorium at 8 o'clock p. m. Here they will be handed their chllds schedule and after hearing di rections from the principal. James Hoey. A. K. Brockway, J. A. McDougall, Curtis Hopkins Sr., L. J. Holbrook and C. W. wells will assist "New students" to find their way about. Following "classes" all "students" will return to the auditorium to Join In a snappy pep-assembly with Ray Henderson aa pep-leader. Printed pep songs and yells will be provided. Wil son Waits and his Junior high band will also be on hand. , Well balanced and nutritious "lunches" will be provided by the "school." The school week shop will be open and lighted for Inspection. Medford Couple Take Vows In Grants Pass Miss Carrie Mae Rice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. 0. Rice of Medford and Thomas M. Rlckman, son of Mrs. Albert Dougherty of Medford. were quietly married at the home of Rev. Darlow 8. Johnson, pastor of the Newman Methodist church. Wednes day evening, In Grants Pass. The bride wore a sport suit and was attended by her sister, Mrs. Nor- man Neathamer of this city. Norman Neathamer acted aa best man. After the ceremony the couple re turned to Medford for a ahort honey moon. They will make their home In Butte Palls where the bridegroom Is employed. Beta Sigma Phi Enjoys Session Beta Sigma Phi sorority met Thurs day evening at the home of Miss Ger trude Hssklns on the South Pacific highway. Guest speaker for the evening was Ethelwyn B. Hoffman, her subject delt with fashions and other phases of clothing and was most Interesting and educational. ' Special guests at ths meeting were Jenes Jensen and Jeanette McKee. The next session will be held on October 17. Couple Celebrate 61 Years Marriage Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Blngman cele brated their alxty-flrst wedding anni versary Wednesday. October 5 at their nome. 803 McAndrews road. The couple were married In 1877 In Dallas, Texas and came to Medford to reside eleven years ago. Mrs. Blngmsn Is 77 years old and her hus nand Is 81. Mr. and Mra. Vale Johnson of this city, became the bride of Mr. Russell W. Womelsdorf, son of Mrs. ova kus- sell, alao of thla city, Sunday after noon at the Church of the Nasarene. The very impressive wedding cere mony was read by Rev. Fred M. Weatherford. pastor of the church. The bride waa attended by ner father, who gave her In marriage at the altar. She was beautifully gowned In white taffeta, with full length tulle veil. She carried a shower of lovely white chrysanthemums and was attended by two flower girls, little Donna Jean Lacy and Gloria Ruth Dunagan. The maid of honor, Miss Janet Wall, wore a gown of Nile green chiffon. The bridesmaids, Misses Delores and Marie Dole, cousins of the bride, wore pink organdie and carried bouquets of astera. Mr. Oklen Womelsdorf was best man for his brother. Ths ushers were; Mr. Eustace Arthur and Mr. Wlllard VanRheen. Miss Mildred Marrs sang. "I Love You Truly", accompanied by Mr. Myron Eaton, who played the wed ding music. Mr. and Mrs. Womelsdorf will re side In Medford. Missionary Group Enjoy Luncheon The missionary societies of the First M. Auxiliary Serves Supper Wednesday Members of the American Legion have been Invited to attend a cov ered dish supper 'to be served by the ladlea of the auxiliary Wednesday night at the armory. "Mess call" will be sounded at 6:30 p. m. and all Legionnaires are urged to be present at that time.. Following the meal, short business sessions will be held by each unit, after which there will be dancing. During the Legion meeting plans will be discussed relative to the big Arm istice day celebration which will bo staged In Medford on Friday, No vember 11.
