descriptive folders be sent to rela
tives and friends all over the United
States. In this way, Mr. DeSouza
said, attention can be centered on
the valley as a desirable place to

Driver Fined Loren H. Fredericks,
94, of 444 South Grape atreet was
fined 815 and 84.50 costs by Judge
William R. Coleman In the Justice
of the pesos court this afternoon for
passing a car on the Pacific highway
near Phoenix. October 6. when there
was not sufficient clearance. The
complaint was filed by state police.
Fredericks pleaded guilty.
Hurt by Rock John Walsh of
Lake Creek suffered an Injured shoul
der while he was working on the
Skyline Trail of the Rogue River
national forest, and was being brought
to Medford this afternoon for treat
ment, headquarters here announced.
Walsh was hit by a flying rock after
a dynamite blast. It was stated. Exact
extent of the Injuries was not known
here.

Medford News Reel
With School Views
Yesterday marked the beginning
of the filming of The Mall Tribune
Medford newsreel.
One of the first big scenes which
will be used In making up this local
news attr&ctlon was filmed on Main
street ss the Senior High school girls'
pep band paraded through the busi
ness district heralding the first big
football game of the season to be
played tonight by the Medford Tigers
and the Roseburg Indians, at the
high school field. Early this morn
ing again found the cameraman on
the Job erecting the elaborate motion
picture and sound equipment on
the corner of Main and Central, and
was all prepared to film the sur
pentlne pep parade as they psssed
the all-seeing lens of the camera.
Several hundred people gathered
around the four cornera of the Inter
section to watch the "shooting" and
It Is hoped that too much attention
was not directed to the filming of
the picture to the detriment of the
purpose of the parade.
Already many plana have been
made for the shooting of local or
ganizations which will be Included In
The Mall Tribune newsreel when It
Is presented on the screen at' tha,
Rialto Theater Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday, October 18. 19. 30. In con
Junction with the presentation of
Medford's first all-sound local movie,

Harry Prentice the possibility of fea
turing the Southern Oregon Accor

week In Ashland, and many of their
solo players have been Invited to
record their talent on the stage of
the Rialto theater next Tuesday and

selsctlng talent for "Runnln Wild."

his co-operation In aiding the pro
ducer select some of the principal
dramatic players who will be seen
on the screen In this local attrac
tion. Wilson Waits, musical director
of the high school, and other mem
bers of the faculty In touch with
the better dramatic and vocal talent
of the school, have also offered
their co-operation. In making this
all-Medford picture a real success
from the standpoint of talent.
