A municipal slate of officers to b elected November 8 was completed today as the lant day for ' filing ended at B p. m. yesterday. Unless there Is a write-In vote, there will be no contest for the various city offices, there being only one canc'idate for each position to go on the ballot. Up for re-electfon are Mayoiv C. O. Furnas, who became municipal head when Mayor George W. ' Porter re signed, Recorder M. L. Alford and Treasurer Qua Samueli. Councilman up for re-election are M. N. Hogan, first ward; Larry Bchade, second ward, and C.tH.- Her man and Thomas Roaeberry, . third ward. J, Frank Relnhart will be on the ballot for councilman repreaent- Ing the fourth ward which has been represented during the past four yeara by W. P. Stewart. Mr. Stewart recently moved out of the ward. Both Herman and iioseherry are now serving by appointment. Herman will be up for the full, four-year term while Rose berry will be on the ballot for a two-year term. - Four of the eight councllmen are elected every two years, the full term being for four years. The term for mayor, recorder and treasurer la two yeara. The list of candidates was to be certified today to the county clerk for Inclusion on the general ballot. LADY FIGURES IN NEW COAST MARKS , KLAMATH FALLS, Sept. 28. UP Pacific coast price records tumbled here yesterday as an auction sale of grand champion animals raised by Klamath county's youthful stock growers culminated the four-day an nual Junior livestock and baby beef show. A total of 113,513.50 jingled In the pockets of future farmers and 4-Hers after the sale with the brand cham pion Hereford steer beef bringing a price of $1.33 a pond and the grand champion Hampshire lamb 81.10 a pound. The average for all stock sold was 33 cents for steers and 34.4 cents for lambs and 13.0 cents for hogs. Most outlandish price of all was that brought by the champion capon. The nine-pound bird, auctioned at 6.60 a pound "on the hoof," cost Henry Semon, Klamath farmer and state legislator, $58.50. As far as could be learned here, the top prices far surpassed those paid in Portland at the Pacific Inter national Livestock exposition and ex ceeded the records of the San Fran cisco shows. Nelson was found unconscious early Sunday In the street at South west Second avenue and Grant. De tectives Al Elchenbcrger and Her man Horsck said a resident of the vicinity heard two men arguing and one exclaimed : "What were you doing with my wife?" The resident, who said he heard dull thud, looked out the window to see a man stretched In the street. Police said a woman, whose, name they withheld, tried to visit Nelson at a hospital, but they have since been unable to locate her. The de tectives said Nelson recently had separated from his wife. APPLE TREND DP; BARTLETTS DROP PORTLAND. Sept. 28. (AP) The apple marke showed an upward trend today with, shippers holding firm and growers unhurried in sell ing. Quotations compiled by the fed eral bureau of economics, listed $1.25 on extra fancy Jonathans, 91.10 fancy, and 00c for C grade for ship ment when ready. 8tarklng Delicious were quoted about $1.65 on extra fancy, Sl.lfi fancy and 1.05 on C grade for 163s and larger; Northwest car shipments reached 555 last week, compared with 414 the previous week. Fairly liberal offerings created a weaker trend for Bartlett pears. Twelve major auctions averaged S1.09, compared with $2.43 for the corresponding time last year. Body Recovered PORTLAND, Sept. 28.
