Salmon fishing was described as excellent In many streams draining Into the Pacific. The report Included the following county comments: Benton county No Improvement In conditions, though some blue backs have been taken In the lower Alsea river. Tillamook county Tillamook, Ne halem and Nestucca bays have all heavy runs of salmon. Although few fish have been taken this week, the Saturday and Sunday outlook Is good. Many sllversldes have entered Nes tucca river. Douglas county General conditions fair. Pew steelhead taken every day from Winchester bay to Steamboat on the Umpqua river. Salmon rout hove been taking files, single eggs and spinners. The best conditions being found on the forks downstream. Fairly good fishing fui time of year on Little river and South Umpqua. Josephine county Unfavorable weather conditions, not, lack of fish, have resulted In poor' angling for about a week. A near record run of steelhead was sighted near Illnhe but apparently bright hot days put the fish deep In cool pools on the lower Rogue.
