Conrsd. county agent and Elsie Bradford of Evans Valley, who was reserve champion of the style review at the Jackson county 4-H club fair In Auguat. Both girls mod eled their dresses In the style review Friday and were In the style parade Friday evening. Chester Ricks won first prlie of two weeks scholarship to 4-H Club summer school at Corvallls In 1BS9, with his exhibit In second year wood-working, at the state fair. This Is the second consecutive year he nee won first place, having won last year In division 1 wo:d-worklng. Every student purchasing a tlckot Is aiding the league to which he be longs. At the end of the contest, the winning league will be named ac cording to the percentage of tlckot bolder In each group, snd will re sult In a dance to be given by the losing organisation. A dance 1 not the only reward, as every holder of a ticket will be ad mitted to all athletic events free, and 1 allowed to hold any office which he might not otherwise be able to do. There are sevaral ways In which the ticket aid everyone, and all stu dent are urged to purchase one dur ing the next week. A Qlrls league meeting was held September 14. to get the little sisters acquainted with their big sisters. It was not n official meeting, but sev eral announcements were made, and Natalie Tengwald entertained with a piano solo. To start the new semester, the first A. S. B. meeting wss held September 13, for the Introduction of officers and announcements. The new president, Burton Daugh erty, called the meeting to order and later gave a short talk to the sopho mores and new students urging them to enter aotlvltles.
