Bread Butter Chocolate Cooklea Sliced Peaches Tea Dinner Menu: Broiled Laqib Chops Creamed Peaa Browned Eggplant Bread Orape Jelly 1 Sliced Tomato Fruit Custard Coffee Fruit Custard Dinner Deviled Egg Salad 4 hard-cooked eggs, diced cup diced celery 1-3 cup diced cucumben 2 tablespoons chopped onion 3 tablespoons ch6pped green peppers 3 tablespoons chopped sour pickles 2 tablespoons chopped olives (op tional) Vi teaspoon salt Y4 teaspoon papri'A 1-3 cup salad dressing 3 tablespoons chill sauce Mix and chill ingredients. Serve In a bowl lined with salad green. Drowned Eggplant 1 eggplant 4 tablespoons salt 1 egg or 3 yolks 8 tablespoons milk 14 cup cornmeal teaspoon pepper 5 tablespoons fat Remove skin from eggplant and cut It Into one-Inch slices. Sprinkle with salt and let stand for one hour, Rinse off In cold water. Beat egg and milk together. Dip eggplant slices Into egg and then Into cornme&l. Sprinkle with pepper. Brown In fry ing pan. Cover. Cook until tender- Fruit Custard 1-8 cup granulated sugar 8 tablespoons flour teaspoon salt 3 egg yolks, beaten v 1 cup pineapple juice 14 cup orange Juice 8 tablespoons lemon Juice cup water cup diced pineapple 1-3 cup sliced oranges 3 egg whites, beaten Blend thoroughly the sugar, flour and salt. Add yolks, fruit juices and water. Cook In a double boiler until thickened, stirring frequently. Cool. Fold In other Ingredients. Chill. Use Mall Tribune Want Ads. JERUSALEM, Aug. 10. (AP) A fresh battle between Britain's scrappy Irish Guards and kilted Scotsmen of the Black Watch and an Arab guerilla band today brought the casualty list for two days of bloody conflict to 95 dead and hundreds wounded. Toay's conflict occurred on the plain of Sharon and followed closely yesterday's battle on the outskirts of Acre. The two days' fighting was the heaviest the Holy Land has seen In the current reign or bloodshed. which became serious July 6. j Sixty Arabs were killed 00 near.1 Acre and at least 10 In the Sharon battle and hundreds wounded In the two engagements, while five Brit ish soldiers lost their lives. Thirteen Britons were wounded. Two Die In Crash SEATTLE, Aug. 10. (F) An auto truck collision took two lives when the two machines came together last night near Duvall, south of Monroe. William McCall, 33, Snohomish, and Carl McNeill, about 30, Everett, were the victims. Gordon McNeill, 28, a brother, was In a critical condition later.
