CALL LOCAL IN FOR SISKIYOU FIRE Rogue River national forest head quarters were called upon again last evening to furnish manpower and foremen to help combat a new fire on the Siskiyou national forest near Oasquet, Seventy-five men were employed through the state employment office here and dispatched in chartered buses for Oasquet late latt ntftht. In addition to SO CCC enrollees from Camp Applegata and 25 from Camp South Pork were sent to the Sis kiyou fire. At 4:00 o'clock this morning five Rogue River forest men left for the Siskiyou blaze to serve as foremen. They were Albert Young. Howard Ash, Jack Crump and Peter Sandoz. all fire guards, and Nate Russell, member of the road crew at Lake of the Woods. The new Siskiyou fire, started by lightning Monday morning, was said to cover 1000 acres this morning. GAME IS CLOSED An additional gam operating at the carnival just outside the northern city limits, was closed Tuesday night, under orders of Sheriff Syd i. Brown. Monday night the aherijr closed U gambling games and announced they would not be permitted to open dur Ing the carnival's atay here. County officials reported today the carnival was paying Its 65 per day license fee dally, Instead of in a lump sum for the week. The license la the maximum than can be imposed by the county. The city license fee is 150 per day for carnivals. The past several months there ha been considerable objections register ed to the appearance of carnivals, from all sections ol the county. Up state areas also have protested. According to county officials, the carnival appearing locally naa had "only fair crowds.'
