Due to the heat. little business was
accomplished at the Antelope 4-H
club meeting July 37, held at the
home ot Patty von der Hellen.
Following the business meetlnf,
members went swimming, after which
refreshments were served to the 10
members and visitors present.
Visitors were Mrs. Elbert Blgham
and daughter Bernlce, Mrs. BUI Big.
ham, Homer Harper and Marguerite
and Otto aehrlg.
Next meeting will be August 10, the
place to be announced later.
The Grange
Live Oak Orange
Live Oak Orange met Monday. Due
to so many being away on vacations,
there was unusually small attend
ance. Mr. and Mrs. Maust of Central
Point were present and their splendid
talks and reports on Orange co-op.
were enjoyed.
Mrs. Sparks sent a huge bouquet
of gladlollos which were distributed
to sit present at her request.
Communication was received from
Mrs. Emma Hall at Cottage Grove,
saying she was Improved In health
and able to attend the grange there.
Her request for demit was granted
but we regret to loose such a splendid
member who also is a charter member
of our grange.
We hope to see all our new mem
bers at our plcnlo Sunday, August 7,
at the Rheullng picnic grounds.
Dinner between 12:30 and 1 p. m.
Our new grounds are to be inspected
after dinner and plans mads for
landscaping same. -Come with a well
filled basket and we assure you a
splendid day.

Trans-Canada Air Lines' hangars here
and at Lethbrldge have been built
with an eye to the future.
Reaping the benefit of the exper
ience of American and European air
lines, whose hangars often have prov
ed Inadequate as large aircraft came
Into use, Trans-Canada officials have
designed both the Winnipeg and
Lethbrldge hangar so that the space
In them can be doubled If necessary,
giving a clear opening of 300 feet,
or sufficient to accommodate any
size of aircraft likely to be used in
the Canadian service.

crtlca weren't so much impressed to
day with George Bernard Shaw's new
est play, in which he places fanciful
caricatures of Hitler, Mussolini and
the Spanish Insurgent, Franco, on,
trial before a court of International
Justice.
"Ths jokes are familiar," and the
play was a "remarkable combination
of high spirits and long wlndednesa,"
said the Dally Mail.
"No discernible story," and "Shaw
all over," the Express thought ot the
82-year old dramatist's offering, en
titled "Goneva" and presented at
Malvern for- the opening of a four-
week dramatic festival.
GETS DOPE THURSDAY
WALLA WALLA, Aug. 8 (AP) A
cocky 30-year-old youth who told the
jury that convicted him of murder
he was "soaking his neck in brine
to get ready for the rope" will go
to the gallows at the state peniten
tiary shortly after tomorrow mid
night. The youth is Stanley Knapp, one
of three convicted for the slaying of
W. E. Walker, customer at the Se
curity State bank of Spokane which
the youths robbed In June, . 1837.
He was captured In Sacramento.
The other two were Herbert Allen,
21, arrested at Wllllston, N. D.. and
Leroy Knapp. 23, Stanley's brotner.
Leroy died from wounds received
when the three attempted to escape
the Spokane county jail, armed with
soap and sock blackjacks.
