From Red Bluff, Cal. came Mr
Emmet Pendleton, well known com
poser and musician. Of Interest here
will be the publication next month
of Mr. Pendleton's collection of '26
songs. The group has been nemed
"Mlnlaturea." Mr. Pendleton and
Father Bartlam have been frlenda
for 36 years.
The Bartlams' other guest was Mi
Ma Oong Wong, formerly an Instruc
tor In the sctiools of Canton, China
He recently graduated from Cnlver-
alty of California In Berkeley, Cal.
Following his sojourn In Medford he
went to Eugene to view the Univer
sity of Oregon campus.
During their stay here. Father
Bartlam took his guest to Crater
lake and other points of Interest In
the valley.

Zonta Meeting
At a special meeting of the Zonta
Club held at the home of Mrs. Mar
garet Fabrlck last Tuesday evening,
a report on the annual International
Convention at Banff was given and
new officers for the coming year were
Installed. .
Mrs. Thora Lawrence, who was the
delegate from the Medford Club re
ported that the delegates at the Con
vention initiated a revolving scholar
ship as a memorial to Zontlan Amelia
Earhart which would be available to
women engineering students who are
particularly Interested In aeronautics.
It was also recommended that women
make a more Intensive study of pub
lic affairs local, national, and Inter
national. The following officers were In
stalled: Thora Lawrence. President;
Margaret Fabrlck, First Vice Presi
dent; Lura Lynch, Second Vice Presl
dent; Effie Kurtz, Secretary; Blanche

A marriage of Interest here was
performed July 9 In Calgary, Canada
at which time Miss Lucille Bracha,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bra
cha of Owendale, Alberta, became the
bride of William Fredenburg. son of
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Fredenburg of this
city.
Mr. Fredenburg. well known In
Medford has lived here with his par
ents all of his life and graduated
from Medford high school.
The young couple recently return
ed from Canada and are residing at

port on the formation of a new com
mittee In connection with the "Good
Citizenship Pilgrimage In which
Crater Lake chapter is so much In
terested and has nominated such out
standing candidates for the honor.
The excerpt from the Oregon Jour
nal follows:
A new committee created at the
last continental congress of the
Daughters of the American Revolu
tion Is the good citizenship pilgrims
clubs. It has Just been announced by
the presl dent-general, Mrs. Henry M.
Robert Jr., of Annapolis, Md.. that
Mrs. Elmer H. Whlttaker of Santa Bar
bara, Cal. has been appointed head
of this committee. Vice chairmen are
Mrs. Clarence H. Adams of Denver
and Mrs. Charles E. Head of Seattle.
Formation of this committee Is In
connection wltn the annual good cit
izenship pilgrimage sponsored by the
D. A. R., whereby a senior high school
girl from each state wins a trip to
Washington, D. C. Hereafter, these
pilgrims are to become members of
the Good Citizenship Pilgrims club.
Announcement was made last week
of the appointment of Mrs. John Y.
Richardson of Portland as chairman
of Vie Americanism committee. Two
other Oregon women have been given
appointments. Mrs. Ralph W. Van
Valln of Newberg Is vice chairman of
genealogical records, and Miss Ruth
Rose Richardson of Eugene Is vice
chairman of Junior membership.

of the D. A. R. museum committee

Mrs. Lloyd L. Watson of Lincoln,
Nebraska.
The charming brunette bride was

blue accessories and gardenia cor
