FARM LOAN UNITS ARE CONSOLIDATED Stockholders Give Approval ; to Mergers, Name Boards Excellent Loan Rec ords Mark Business Here Legal consolidation of National Tarm Loan association In the south ern Oregon district were eonounoed today by A. A. Rogers, Oregon field representative of the Federal Land bank. At a special meeting of stockhold ers last night in the office uf Warren Petterson, aeoretary-treaaurer. In the Liberty building, ratification wa unanimously voted of the tcnaollda tlon of the Medford, Ashlsnd and Gold Hill National Farm Loan asso ciations. The action had been sanc tioned by the directors. The con solidated association will be known as the Bear Creek . National Perm Loan association. Consolidation Into the Jackson County Farm Loan association of Medford was apprved at a meeting last Saturday of the stockholders of the Central Point, Phoenix and Rogue River National Farm Loan associa tions. Take Assets, Liabilities. The consolidated associations take ever all assets and assums all lia bilities of the predecessor associa tions. The Bear Creek National Farm Loan association has an authorized capital stock of $30,000. with neraly $28,000 held by member borrowers. Stockholders elected the following directors of the Bear Creek associa tion: Charles A. Wing. Medford, F. L. Nutter, Ashland, 8. 8. , Abbott, Central Point, M. Bernlce Kovl, Ash land, and ' J. 8. Lydlard, Medford. The directors elected Mr. Wing presi dent, Mr. Nutter vice-president and Mr. Patterson secretary-treasurer. Capital B0,ooo. ' The new Jackson County National Wrm Loan association starts busi ness with an authorised sapltal of SO100 and 138 member borrowers who now own a0,B3S of the fully paid stock, the ennouncement by Mr. Rogers said. The following di rectors were elected; C. K. Taylor, Central Point, Clifton F. Smith. Cen tral Point, Julius W. Blrkholu. Cen tral Polnt.Edward E. Dlmick, Rogue River, and WUllam J. Ferns. Medford. The board elected Mr. Taylor presi dent, Mr. Smith vice-president and Mr. Patterson secretary-treasurer. The three associations Included In the Jackson county consolidation had been In business for more than 30 years and had lent more than 1500, 000 to their members without loss to the stockholders, Mr. Rogers' state ment said. This record, he added, should be maintained by not elect ing to membership sny applicant unless his farm had shown nn earn ing power over a period of years that would sustain the loan sought. Over $800,000 Lent. The associations Included In the Bear Creek consolidation hart loaned their members more than saoo.OOO since organization In 1917, figures presented at last night's meeting showed. Entire loss to stockholder members was shown to be only about i percent. All association borrowers will con tinue to pay 8 percent Interest on their loans on all Installments ma turing prior to July 1, 1040. Present lending rate Is 4 jtercent. Prior to July 11, borrowers had the privilege of not paying on the prin cipal. This srrangement has expired and sll are now required tu meet the principal portion of maturing Installments.
