BIO APPLEOATE. July . (Bpl.)
Many visitors sought the moun
tain areas to spend their Fourth
of July holiday, and reaching the
forest service lookout here, were
Inspired with the panoramlo view of
Jackson county from Ita towering
heights.
Snow drifts previously had block
ed the road to Dutchman's Peak
summit, and Mr. and Mrs. G. R.
Cameron, formerly of Oklahoma and
now of Rogue River valley, were the
first to drive their ear up the south
slope of the peak to Its pinnacle
dwelling. Mr. and Mra. Cameron
were accompanied by Oklahoma
guests, May and John Dunlap, Othor
Rlchey and Warden Loyd. Words
courd not express their appreciation
of the beauty of Rogue River valley
as seen from the Siskiyou mountain
top. They stated that the scenery
had not been equaled since they
crossed the Rockies en route - to
Jackson county, and they were ex
ceptionally pleased with the fact
that Dutchman's peak Is not a snake
Infested area. The visitors said they
would be frequent callers at the
lookout this season. Bill Alcken, In
charge of the lookout, also appre
ciated the southern hospitality of
his guests, having been presented
with a chocolate cake by Mrs, Came
