A light-hearted treatment of the pursuit of happiness Is the theme of the picture. A musical comedy star who. thsnks to the demands of her selfish family, Is constantly In debt, and fortrlght sort of playboy are the principals. Certain that her family loves her In spite of their expensive habits, the star indignantly quarrels with the young man when he urges her to let the relatives shut for them selves, and learn how to have a good time before It's too late. -On this basis the story moves along a unique path marked by arguments and reconciliations and romance, as the confident young man endeavors to convince the girl that his reeson. tag la sound. Bis rescue of her from a mob of autograph-hunters, a police court episode when the star has him arrested for annoying her, a hectic marriage, and the young man's ef forts to persuade her to go to the South Seas with him on his tramp schooner yacht, are part of the many lively features In the picture. But, Judging from all reviews where the picture hss shown, the two most outstanding parts of 'the picture and most likely to bring out the most laughs are the Tyrolean beer garden sequence and skating scene where Inhibitions are cast to the four winds and the star reBlly "lets her hair down and has a good time." The supporting cast boasts of such players as Alice Brady, Guy Klbbee, Lucille Ball, Eric Blore, Jean Dixon, Warren Hymer and Franklin Pang born. IS JAIL SUICIDE CASCADE, Idaho. Juno U. (AP) Sheriff Robert L. Wilson reported to night that "a suspect' In the Charles Mattaon kldnap-slaying hanged him self in the Valley county Jail today. The officer identified the suicide aa Thomas F. Lannon, 63, of Reno, Nev. The Mattson boy. 10-year-old son of Dr. W. W. Mattson of Tacoma. was kidnaped Dec. 27, 1036, and his body was found Jan. 11 , 1937. A $28,000 ransom was asked. Wilson said Lannon was arrested here May 15 on a morals charge, "After his fingerprints were exam ined," the sheriff said, "the federal bureau of Investigation agents at Butte, Mont., Instructed me to hold him on suspicion of being involved in the Mattson case." Coroner W. C. Hurd termed the case a suicide and said no inquest would be conducted. Sheriff Wilson said Lannon. a World war veteran, had been In Cody, Wyo., recently, a social security card showed.
