The following officers were unanimously elected for the coming year: President Mrs. Charles Kunx. First Vloe-Sresldent Mrs. J. F. Fllegel. Second Vloe-Presldent Mrs. Earl Pay. Secretary -Treasurer Mrs. Margaret Burton. Recording Secretary Mrs. Earl York. Sergeants-At-Arms Mrs. Charles Tuttle and Mrs. William Barnhlll. Executive CommitteeMrs. O. L. Overmyer, Mrs. Nettle Ellenburg, Mrs. Ray Wright. Delegates elected to the convention were Mrs. Charles Kunz, Mrs. O. L. Overmyer and Mrs. Margaret Burton. Plans were made Tuesday night for a picnic for the Legion and aux iliary, to be held Wednesday, June IS, at Jackson Hot Springs. Mrs. E. J. Feldman was appointed general chairmen of the commit too on ar rangements, An announcement of unusual In terest was mode Tuesday night when the name of Mrs. O. L. Overmyer was suggested as a candldte for district president. Mrs. Overmyer has Just concluded a moat successful year as president of the Medford unit and her candidacy has been enthusiastic ally received by her many friends here, who have united In pledging her their loyal support. Margaret Pabrlck. The tables were gay with a com plete paper service and flowers. A large number of members and bus bands enjoyed the supper. The retiring president, Jane Snedl cor and Mrs. L. o. Oentner gave In teresting report, of the state confer ence which they attended In Marsh' field several weeks ago, and all offi cers read their reports for the past year. The club has had a very active year, It hu accomplished many out standing things, the recent highly successful Qarden Day being the fea ture of the year. New officers are looking forward to an even more satisfactory report next year. , Club members presented Miss Snedlcor with a beautiful bouauet and many other expressions of appre ciation for her" excellent work as president the past two years. Standard was a recent hostess at her home on West Main for a delightful dinner party honor ing the wedding anniversary of Mr. Mrs, J. o. N. Poling. The occasion also marked the birthday of Mrs. Poling, who Is Dr. Standard's sister. Dinner was served on the lawn, the rose garden making a beautiful na tural decoration. Patricia Fischer rendered two songs followed by group singing led by Mrs. Helen High Pierce, club presi dent. ' Mrs. McConochie Returns to Visit Mrs. Bessie McConohle, former Medford resident, , arrived here re cently by plane from Los Angeles and la staying at the Hotel Jackson. H. Zastrow of Grants Pass, vice-president of the Oregon state board of barber examiners, and the owner will be issued a shop license on Mr. Zastrow 's recom mendation, the examiner announced Mr. Zastrow said Da hack's shop passed a nice inspection. It was erroneously stated yester day that Dahack was tried In Grants Pass Justice court on a charge of operating a barber shop on Sunday, winning an acquittal. Mr. Zastrow explained mat uanack waa never tried on that charge, the case being dismissed In Medford justice oourt several months ago. Mr. Zastrow stated that Dahack sued him In Josephine county cir cuit court in September. 192A. for 8360 for false arrest, and that the Jury returned a verdict In favor of Zastrow. Nellson that he be grant. ed a license to operate a barber ahop u an inspection warranted. TWO ARRESTED HERE TO Two men held here for California authorities were returned yesterday on extradition papers. They were: Charles E. Preston, al leged navy deserter, charged with the theft of an auto from Vermosa. Calif., and Earl A. Kennedy, alias Cole, charged with the burglary of a San Francisco garage, and the theft of a custom-made auto. Inspector C. P.
