Okla., and Hagen Moore of Baker, Ore., ar- rived In Ashland Sunday to take part In this year s Oregon Shakespearean festival, and were among those given auditions last night by Director An gus L, Bowmer. The two Moores are not related. Angus Moore has Just returned from England where he played during the past season with the Michael Martin Harvey Shakespearean company tour ing the Island. He also served as assistant stage manager with the stock company. Prior to that time. he studied with the London Central school and played with the Little Theatre company at Bath. Hagen Moore, director of dramatics at the Baker. Ore., high school, la a graduate' of the University of Ore gon drama department and waa granted a scholarship with the Pasa dena Playhouse last season. He also studied last year with the Theodore Irving school In New York City, and is regarded as an actor of promise. The two men are the first of a number of young actors coming here from all over the United States to take part in the festival, according to Director Bowmer. Others are ex pected to arrive this week. Bob Stead man, Klamath Falls, dra ma director for the Hantey, Ore., high school, arrived two weeks ago and is again Working as technical director for the productions. "Twelfth Night," "Taming of the Shrew," "Hamlet" and the "Merchant of Venice" will be presented during the festival Au gust S to 13, inclusive. All young people In the valley who wish to take part are invited to attend the auditions at 8 o'clock every night this week In the South' ern Oregon' Normal school audito rium, according to Bowmer. NEW DEAL PR0P0SE0 FOR LOCAL BREWERY An organization la being formed here to take over the property for merly owned by the Oold Seal Cream ery and Southern Oregon Brewing corporation, it was announced today. It Is planned to add additional bus iness lines to those conducted now. It is reported that stockholders of the Southern Oregon Brewing corpor ation and the preferred stockholders of the Gold Seal Creamery will be given an opportunity to participate In the new organization by reason of their stock holdings in Southern Ore gon Brewing corporation , and the Gold Seal Creamery. S. A. Kroschel, present owner of the property, Is here now considering a proposal for the property from the new organization. He stated he saw a good future for the new organiza tion, i'and regretted that he could not help operate It, but woud assist the company financially. He has to leave for San Diego In a few days. It was decided to hold a picnic at the Elks picnic grounds Friday eve ning, June 17, at which time several of the visiting dignitaries will be Initiated into the Crater club In the Impressive rites that have made the club one of Med ford's outstanding organizations.
