Lorkwood S?Sr Grade Allen With Brilliant Cast In Craterian Picture A frolicsome comedy, studded with new songs, had Its first local showing last night at the Craterian theatre in "College Swing," the new production starring Burns and Allen, Mortha Raye and Bob Hope. The dlwy antics that take place on a great college campus when the school dumbell inherits the university and makes over the place In her own image., form the plot background with Oracle the happy-go-lucky "ed ucator" and Bob Hope the aly student who shows her how to get by with a mlmimum of brains and a maximum of nerve. Because she la the first member of her family to pans an examination In two hundred years, Oracle comes Into posseeslon of Alden College. She believe that a revolution In educa tion methods baa long been overdu tn America and so proceeds to set one In motion. After making herself "Dean of Men." Martha Raye a professor, and Ben Blue director of physical education, she makes applied romance the one and only required subject and puts Bob Hope In charge of this de partment. The resulting pandemonium glvas the willing students the gayest time of their lives, but proves too much for the hard-headed trustees, who are headed by a woman-hating multi millionaire, played to perfection by Edward Everett Horton. They expose the trickery used by Oracle and Hoie to achieve their power and take the college awny from the pair before fur ther damage Is done. In a rollicking climax Oracle turns tho tables on the trustees, by showing them that al though she's weak In philosophy and mathematics, she knows her romance. Use Mall Tribune Want Ada.
