Ayres of 115 Florence street was fined $10 and costs in Justice of the peace court this morning. State po lice arrested Ayres last night at Vis carnival after he allegedly caused a disturbance and mildly resisted arresx. Flying South Charles LaJotte. chief pilot for the Gilmore Oil com pany, stopped at Medford municipal airport this afternoon to have his company's Bellanca plane refueled. He was en route from Portland to Los Angeles, having flown Earl Gil more. Jr., company president, to Port land last week. Overnight Guests Senaxor H. J. Elliott, accompanied by Mrs. Elliott, was a business visitor here yesterday and today. Senator Elliott formerly represented Polk and Benton coun ties in the state legislature. While here the visiters were overnight guests at the home of Senator Elliott's brother, Dr. B. R. Elliott. To Portland G. A. Barr left today by motorcar for Portland where ne will make his home. He has lived in Medford for a number of years and was part owner of the Jackson County Feed company at 4th a nd Bartlett streets. He was accompanied to Portland by C. W. Hood. v Plowing Road A crew of CCC men from Camp South Fork was engaged today tn plowing the snow-blocked roed to Fish lake. The road would be plowed to within 1 miles of the lake tonight. Rogue River na tional forest headquarters said. No attempt will be made to plow the road beyond that point because the snow is too deep, headquarters stated. Turn-off and parking space will be provided, at the end of the plowed section. The crew is using a tractor with a blade attached. Laurance Espey, project superintendent, is In charge of the work.
