IN EXOTIC SETTING
An alluring and mysterious Island
tn the South Seas, filmed for the
first time in breath-taking Tech
nicolor, forms the exotic background
for "Her Jungle Love," etarrtjag Dor
othy Lamour and Hay Ml 11 and at
the New Craterian theatre, where It
opens a three-day run today.
The picture tells the story of a
f 'handsome young aviator who Is cast
away on a deserted tropical Isle only
to discover that its only other In
habitant Is a "lovely girl who has
never before set eyes on a white
man.
Miss Lamour, fresh from her suc
cess In "Hurricane," is shown as the
native girl whose love for the young
aviator runs afoul of a half-crazed
native potentate, played by 0. Car
roll Naish, veteran of mysterious
Oriental roles. She and MUland have
to fight for their love, and later for
their very lives,- against furious nat
ive tribes who know white men only
as "devils" come to take their island
away from them. They escape only
through the Intercession of one of
those miracles which make the
South Pacific deserve Its reputation
for mystery and Intrigue and amaz
ing adventures.
The comedy of Lynne Overman
relives the tension and the roman
tic Interest In his role of Mllland's
flying companion. Another member
of the cast Is Dorothy Howe, the
Texas girl who suddenly found her-
V- self lifted from her telephone
switchboard position to the enviable
place of one of Hollywood's most
promising newcomers.
A new Robert Benchley short,
"How To Figure Out Your Jncome
Tax," gives a humorous angle on
the yearly headache. Also on the
program Is a colored cartoon and,
of course, the latest news events
as pictured through the lenses of
the, newsreel men.

and he got out to crank. An east
bound express rolled down the track,
demolished the car. Townsley still has
the crank; a reminder he once owned
an automobile.
With three of the screen's top stars
sharing the spotlight, the thrilling
new aviation picture, "Test Pilot,"
comes to the New Craterian theater
Wednesday for a four-day showing.
Clark Gable, Myrna Loy and Spencer
Tracy, with Lionel Barrymore heading
the supporting cast, assure picture
fans of exceptional film entertain
ment. In addition, the picture has
some of the most exciting flying se
quences ever brought to the screen,
and shows the extreme hazards the.se
most modern of heroes, the airplane
test pilots, undergo in their every
day adventures to assure safety to
the pilots and passengers of the ships

A picture far excelling the Rialto
theatre's usual line of top-flight
films is "Of Human Hearts," the
dramatic story of the Civil war, which
opens a three day run today at the
Rialto theatre.
A picture so great In theme that
even the great cast is of little im
portance to the story It character
izes, "Of Human Hearts" is the
drama of a father and a mother
and the love they bestowed upon
their only son; the ungrateful re
ward they won for their sacrifices;
the mother's visit to the Great
Emancipator, Abraham Lincoln, to
replace her son In the hearts of
his countrymen; and last of all, the
final reckoning and the reunion of
mother and son. "Of Human Hearts"
Is considered of such Importance
that the Rialto theatre will have
no added attraction other than sel
ected shorts for their three-day pro
gram starting today.
The large cast of the film is
headed by Walter Huston, his first
film since "Dodsworth," James Ste
wart and Beulah Bondl. the im
mortal mother of "There's Always
Tomorrow."
The new picture is the story of
an Itinerant preacher and his fam
ily In an Ohio village during the
1850's. Father and son misunder
stand each other and thero are fam
ily troubles. The boy deserts his
family to become a doctor, the Civil
war intervenes, and he is finally set
on the right path by Lincoln, played
in the film by John Carrndine.
Dramatic highlights such as the
desperato fight between father and
son are interspersed among tender
human interest and comedy se
quences. Other members of the cast in
clude Guy Klbbee. Charles Coburn,
Gene Lockhart, Ann Rutherford.
Leatrice Joy Gilbert (daughter of
John Gilbert), Charley Grapewln and
Sterling Holloway.
