Queer Eggs Soft-shelled Siamese eggs were on display today at the Jackson County Chamber of Com merce. They were laid by a White Leghorn hen owned by Mrs. Arthut Kent of Route 3. Mother Dies Mrs. W. S. Oilmorc of 55 North Orange street received word today of the death in Baltimore. Md., of her mother, Mrs. Prank W, Ray, following the amputation of a leg. Mrs. GUmore said she knew no other details. Team Has Banquet Varsity and midget basketball players of St. Mary's high school enjoyed a banquet in the school dining room last night. Fathers Francis W. Black and Augustus Mey ers gave talks praising the perform ance of both teams during the past season. All players responded with abort speeches. Coach Wallace Rfck ert was toastmaster. Returns to Medford Ike Dunford, former deputy sheriff of Jackson county, has returned to Medford to accept the position of manager of the meat department of the River aide market. For the past three years Mr. Dunford has operated a meat mar ket in Yreka. Cal. Roof Fire Damage was done this morning to the roof and attio of the W. E. Cooper residence on the site of the old gas plant south of town. The fire department's chemical crew helped in putting the blaze out. The f property Is owned by the. Southern Oregon Gas corporation. To Portland Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Obye and two young children, M&ry and John, of 17 Glen Oak court left today by motorcar to spend a few days with relatives in Portland. Mr. Obye. assistant supervisor of the Rogue Rive national forest, has been granted a .short leave of absence. Ranker Confer John Sanginson, new ranger of the Lake o Woods dis trict of the Rogue River national forest with winter station in Klam ath Falls, conferred here today with W. L. The crew consists of 35 men. Forest Chief Here J. W. Ferguson, state forester, arrived here from Port land by United Mainltner this morn ing to conduct a meeting of the Southwest Oregon Fire Patrol asso ciation at a p. m. in district head quarters of the state forest depart ment on Midway road. Fire control plans for the coming season were to be mapped out. The association Is composed of Jackson and Josephine county landowners whose property Is protected by the state forest depart ment.. Rector and James Stewart, candidates for Justice of the peace: and Commissioner Otto Cas ter, candidate for re-nominatlon. Re publican speakers were R. F. Slngler and Alvnh E. Jr., member of the Bend Skyllners. broke a vertebra In his fall at the ski tour nament held In Crater Lake national park April 10, it was revealed in a letter received today by Kenneth O. Denman, member of the Rogue Snow men, host club at the tourney. Hagen has been confined to his home In a plaster cast but Is now able to walk around for short periods each day, the letter said. He will not be per manently Injured and will probably be able to resume skiing next year. Mr. Denman was informed. The Bend youth was hurt when, making a wide turn in practice, he went off the edge of the ski course and fell IS feet to the road below. He said at the time he did not know the road was there.
