And, that's the main thing. There Is just one new angling law Oregon nlmrods will have to remem ber this year as they trudge the mountain by-ways, all other rules are the same as In 1937. This season, trout under six Inches In length can't be re t a I nod, but must be tossed back from whence they came. Trout six Inches In length or over are legitimate. As for hag limits, there are no changes In the laws 15 pounds and one fish but not to exreed 20 fish In any one day, or HO pounds and one fish but not to exceed 40 fish In any seren con serutlve days, and It Is unlawful to possess more than 80 pounds and one fish or more than 40 fish nt any one time. And for lakes, except Diamond, It's Iff pounds and one fish but not to exceed 15 fish In any one day, or 30 pounds and one fish hut not to exceed 30 fish In any seren eonseeutlxe days. For Jackson county anglers, addi tional wnter has been opened this aoaaon, almost 18 miles of It Last seoflon, the north fork of Little Butte creek, from Pish lake to the linke Creek postofflce. was entirely closed to fishing. This year, the north fork of Little Butte Creek will be open except for a distance of three- quarters mile downstream from Pish lake. All other open and closed water in the county remains the same as last year. Although trout are reported plentl fur In all streams of the county, state police believe angling will be rather poor for awhile because of the high and roily water. What catches are made will probably be with bait or spinners, as the trout won't be able to see flies until the water recedes and clears. One of the best streams for the opening will be Evans creek, stnte police said, which Is clear above Wlmer and literally teeming with trout. A warning was Issued to s.11 fish ermen that they must equip their cars with chains when venturing ofl paved or graveled roads. Practically all country and mountain roads are In poor condition because of heavy rainfall and snow the past winter State police said, and cars would become mired down If thiy didn't possess chains. The road to Squaw lake cen be traveled only as far es Dlvldent Bar, they reported, and the mile and a half to the lake must be walked. Coast I engtie Portland. 1; Oakland, 0.
