American Legion's Armistice Day
celebration was recorded In the Med
ford post's annals today as the great
est fete In years.
Large crowds attended the numer
ous events on the day-long program
and all, committee heads reported,
apparently had an enjoyable time.
Almost as if. by design, the weather
cleared Just before the start of the
big patriotic parade and rain held
off until completion of the Medford
Ashland high school football game
which was attended by a throng es
timated at more than 5000. By that
time scene of the festifvities had
shifted indoors and the showers did
not matter.
About 1600 persons attended the
dance and floor show held last night
as a climax to the celebration. This
was the largest Armistice Day dance
throng in more than a decade, said
Lee Garlock. chairman for the event.

sistance to the advance was more
pronounced In today's stock market,
although selected Issues managed to
hold gains running to two points and
a few registered wider swings.
The list, deluged by profit selling
at the opening based on Wednesday's
sharp recovery, leaned backward for
a while, but buying support soon,
appeared and most declines were
cancelled.
Trading sentiment was again buoy
ed by the growing belief the ad
ministration is getting ready to stem
the declining trend In business and
industry.
Building material stocks achieved
popularity on expectations the fed
eral authorities would Inaugurate a
huge housing campaign as a means
of bracing employment. Specialties
