Pheasants congregate In com fields and owners of corn field are not sold on the idea of allowing hunting In them, especially during busking time. Very little venison has been brought Into the neighborhood by local hunt er this year, although a few have been quit successful, among them being Frank Myers and Bob Bishop. The Mel Atkins family are now resident of th Eagle Point district, where Mr. Atkins has leased the Brltt ranch. Mr. Atkins farmed the Pendleton place here . for aeveral years, during which time he brought the place up to th peak of produc tion. Th Atkins were oxcellent neighbors and their msny friends were sorry to loss them from the district. The many hundreds of wood ducks which Inhabit the local ponds snd sloughs are reported . to have de stroyed considerable grain along Ir rigation and drain ditches. First meeting of the season of ths Community club was held Wednesday evening at the school bouse. The program waa furnished by pupils of the school. The following club offi cers were elected, for the ensuing year: Prealdent, H. M. Harper; vice- prealdent, Mrs. Brenneaholts; secretary-treasurer, Melvln Smith. The school budget as submitted was nearly 35 per cent lower than laat year, the decrease being made possible by the better collection of taxes. Forest Creek FOREST CREEK, Nov. 1. (Spl.)
