Program Mapped Program for this
year's Armistice Day celebration will
be made public in the near future, It
was announced following a meeting
of the American Legion executive
committee In the Hotel Medford last
night. Gain Robinson, general chair
man of the celebration committee,
and Mark Goldy, scrip committee
chairman, conferred with the post
executives and went over arrange
ments for the day's events. They
said this year's celebration Is expected
to be the greatest ever held In south
ern Oregon.
Delivering Plane R. W. Thaw, pilot
for Harold S. Vanderbllt, and R. W.
Ayer, chief of the flight branch of
the bureau of air commerce, were
overnight visitors In Medford. Thaw
was piloting a new Lockheed Electra
12-place transport plane for delivery
to the Trans-Canada Air Lines at
Vancouver, B. C. Ayer was accom
panying him on a business trip to
the north. The arrived at Medford
municipal airport from the south
yesterday afternoon, making an un
scheduled landing here when fog be
came too thick for safe progress. They
continued to Vancouver this fore

To British Isles Frank Barber of
McAndrews road left last night by
train for New York City where he
will sail on the liner Queen Mary
for Europe. He will visit his mother
and sister In Aberdeenshire, Scot
land, and other relatives in England.
He will return In a few months to
his work at the Timber Products com
pany, where he has been employed
for the past 14 years.

Receives Injuries Mrs. W. J. Rut
ledge of 040 Pennsylvania avenue was
taken to Sacred Heart hospital early
today, suffering from a fractured left
ankle sustained when she slipped and
fell on the floor of her home as she
was attempting to empty a stove of
ashes. Hospital attendants said the
fracture necessitated an anesthetic
being given Mrs. Rutledge before the
break was set. She was taken to the
hospital by the Perl ambulance.

Maltese kitten purred
and smoothed Its coat here today,
apparently proud of hitch-hiking here
from Astoria, Ore., on a brewery
truck. Albert Larson, driver of the
truck, said the kitten boarded his
outfit at Astoria and stood on the
turntable which carries the . weight
of the trailer, obviously enjoying the
ride.
