V ' U ' 'S TO WITH GREAT SALE Twenty-sevftn years of successful catering to shoppers of southern Ore gon will be celebrated by Mann's de partment store, starting next Satur day, first day of the annual month long anniversary sale which will com memorate the completion of more than a quarter of a century of busll neas tn the earns location and under the same management. One of the state's most attractive shopping centers, Mann's will open doors to the public with sharp price reductions In all Its modern and well-stocked departments. The an niversary sale starts Saturday and closes about the first of November. Months of planning and buying for the annual sale are followed, accord ing to John Moffatt. manager for the past 26 years. Buyers are sent to the city markets with orders to pur chase quality merchandise at reason able prices, and the merchandise Is passed on to customers under the same conditions. Departmentlzed throughout, the store offers Items of apparel for every member of the fam ily, and Is without a doubt one of the most fully stocked In Oregon. Thousands of dollars worth of spe cial merchandise is purchased yearly of the anniversary sale, and this year will prove no exception. Mr. Moffatt states that shoppers will choose from the largest and flnut assortment of high class goods yet to be stocked by Mann's. Because of the annual anniversary sale. October has become one of the largest business months of the year. Mr. Moffatt says. And, because of that. Mann's are able to offer ex citing price reductions in all Its de partments more than at any other time. Since the opening of Mann's In 1910, the popular department store has undergone several remodeling and enlargement programs. From time to time, there have been added new features. The last enlargement was tn 1938. when the store procured the space now occupied by the men's department with entrance on East Main street, utilized the base-ment, and added a beauty salon, air con ditioning and ultra modern lighting. Mr. Mann and all employes cor dially welcome their many friends to the first day of the. store-wide sale starting Saturday, and express their appreciation for the years of gener ous patronage they have enjoyed.
