Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Hutchinson returned Bun day from a 34 month's vacation and report a delightful trip. Leaving hom, May 16 they drove to Portland . ' . ' ' ... and visited a few daya wltb rela tlves and friends, thence to Cas-1 cade Locks,. where they visited their son, Floyd, and family and attended the graduation of their oldest grand daughter, Olive Hutchinson. Accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Hutchinson of Portland, they started from Redmond, Ore., May 35 to Clay Center, Kas., going through Prlnevllle and Ontario to reach the Old Oregon Trail, then on to Boise, Idaho, from there direct to Chey enne. Wyo., and south to Denver. Going through western Kansas, they encountered a bad dust storm and stopped for a few hours, as it was Impossible to see the highway. They arrived at Clay Center May 30, where they were met by Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Hutchinson of Bradford, Pa., and all visited together for a month. Clay Center waa the family home of the Hutchtnaona. They visited for mer school mates and one teacher, and looked up old places of interest. They also visited coualne at Wichita, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Hutchinson visited relatives of Mrs, Hutchinson In To peka, White City and Neosha Rapids. Mrs. Hutchinson spent a few days in Kansas City and while there attend ed the American home economics as sociation gathering. Mrs. Hutchinson especially enjoyed the air cooled stores, cafes and theaters, as well aa the alr-oondltloned cars on the railroads, as the weather was very warm during June. Leaving Clay Center July 1 the Hutch Insons traveled until they reached the mountains around Den ver, then through the Lead villa mountains, where It was cool. From Leadvllle .north, they reached the Jackson Hole country south of Yel lowstone park. Lakes are numerous and beautiful. They visited Grand Teton park and mountains, going on to Yellowstone through the south entrance, spent a very Interesting week there. They left the park through West Yellowstone, going to Welser, Idaho, where they visited Mrs. Hutchlnsons sister and on to Grangevllle and Lewlston, Idaho, where they called on friends. They spent 10 daya at Pomeroy visiting Mrs. Hutchinson's brother and other relatives. They returned via Cascade Looks and from there went to Dia mond lake for a two weeks stay, plus a week at Klamath Palls with their son, Kexa. and family. An other week at Hamaker ranger sta tion, and then home. The Hutchlnsons took their trailer house, a covered wagon type and are well pleased with that way of traveling.
