going hog-wild In an effort to gain
the good graces of the former steno
''former" because she loses her Job
on account of the scandal. In about

for her, and all the time, she has

dream suite.

There's a market crash, caused by

benefactor what he thinks of steel.
There's a battle of wits when she
learns why she has been showered
with blessings from heaven. And fi
nally, there's a hilarious climav that
sees everything straightened out to
everyone's mutual satisfaction.

Joseph Carson and City Commis
sioner James E. Bennett became the
center today of a bitter dispute over
vice in Portland, the mayor chal
lenging Bennett to submit asserted
"data" on collusion In the police
department to the county grand Jury.
Bennett, who charged last Thurs
day that police were using city auto
mobiles to visit gambling dens and
make collections, retorted that It
would "do no good" to turn his
information over to the mayor or
chief of police, who Is directly under
the mayor.
Carson said Bennett's charges re
flected upon the entire department
and urged that steps be taken Im
mediately to clear the reputation of
the police.

Sam's naval air forces with th
romance of the tropica in a highly
dramatic story, "Wings Over Hono
lulu." opens a three -day engagement
at the Rialto theatre today with
Wendy Barrie and Ray Mill and In
the leading roles. MUland Is remem
bered for his work in "Three Smart
Girls".
The picture was filmed on location
with the cooperation of the United
States navy and contains spectacular
aviation scenes. The U. S. S. Ranger,
giant naval aircraft carrier, is the
locale of a number of the picture's
outstanding sequences. Several of
her officers and enlisted personnel
appear In the production. Notable
among them Is Capt. P. N. Bellinger,
commander of the ship.
In addition to Miss Barrie and
MUland, the Hollywood members of
the cast include Kent Taylor, Wil
liam Gargan, Polly Rowles, Samuel
S. Hinds, Joyce Com p ton and Louisa

"Wings Over Honolulu" hita a new
