Just starting and we find that the

take a great pride in having very fresh
stocks of herbs and spices that are
used In preserving. A few of the more
common spices that are called for In
cur store are . . . Black and White
Mustard seed. Tumeric, Oil of Anise,
Bay Leaves, Cinnamon Bark and Ber
ries, Ginger Root, Cloves, Caraway

p known that drug store spices are j

HIT BY STANFIELD
PORTLAND, Aug. 13. (JP) Former
Senator Robert N. Stanfleld charged
In an Interview here that "like other
almable and complacent governors,"
Governor Charles Martin was play
ing politics with eastern Oregon grac
ing landa at the expense of the irre
ducible school fund.
He referred to a current contro
versy over the metthod of consolida
tion of 700,000 acres of state-owned
lands through exchange with the fed
eral government.
Stanfleld opposed the recommen
dation of a committee of nine that
the land be combined in small acre
ages on the basis of availability for
grazing purposes, contending that
fewer large sections would result in
more revenue from rentals.
