Citizens of Central Point are Justly proud of having their library per. manently located In their own build ing, after having had to seek new ' quarters twice during the paat year, snd with no cash on hand to fin ance the removal. Business men of the city, ably aa alsied by tbe Clvlo club nd reading public, discussed ways and means and Inaugurated a program of din ners, food sales and caah donation solicitation which financed purchase ol the Murray store building, six dollars waa borrowed to round out the sum required. Tbe purchase waa completed on My 1 and then the backers of the move were faced with the problem of remodeling, luatalllug a new loun datlon, flooring, painting, papering and Installing needed equipment. Nearly all labor waa donated and by the continued effort of the Civic club and othera, all bills have been paid. The long table, 14 feet oy 38 Incnea, padded and covered with black oilclotn, occupying the center of the room, waa a gift of former Mayor J. O. laaacson, who, with Mrs. Isaacson, la leaving soon for an ex tended trip. All the work was accomplished In three months and the library Is the only branch library in southern Ore gon owned by a city.
