'S Identity of the aged hitch-hiker who wu killed on the Pacific high way four miles north of Gold Hill Saturday night when struck by a car driven by A. H. Schneider of Grants Pass remains a mystery, Couny Coroner Frank Perl said today. He was photographed yesterday. His fingerprints will be tawen today. Coroner Perl stated, and forwarded to Washington, D. C, In an attempt to Identify him. The coroner today Issued a de scription of t he man as follows: Weight, between 180 and 190 pounds; age. 70 years or more; height, about & feet 10 Inches; full, grayish-brown beard; full faoe; high cheek bones; Roman nose; blue eyes; no upper teeth, six lower teeth; numerous old scars on chest, neck and legs. When he was killed the old man was wear ing a gray work shirt purhased from J. C. Penriey company, blue denim overalls, black shoes, a ,blue zipper jacket, an old brown cloth overcoat and a brown hat. Miss De Havlland, It seems, was traveling in cognito, just like royalty. United Air Lines employes here knew nothing about her. At least that's what they said. O. Harrington, an assistant WPA admin istrator, told Senator Charles Mc- Nary today no priority will go to re lief workera owning and operating trucks used on government projects. The work will rotate between re lief and non-relief employes. The practice of employing relief applicants to aid them in purchasing equipment led to many abuses. Harrington said.
