Doerr, Jr. The schedule started July 1. A conducted trip to the summit ot Oarf leld peak, fourth highest rim elevation, la scheduled tor every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 8:30 a. m., starting from the Infor mation building or the Crater lake lodge parapet. The trail la 1.7 miles long with the grade easy to nego tiate. Prom this elevation of over 8000 feet, a complete panorama view of the lake and miles of surround ing country la possible. The Watchman auto caravan and hike leaves the Blnnott memorial dally at 1:30 p. m. A short Intro ductory talk la . presented by a ranger-naturallat previous to the de parture. Stops are made at several observation polnta along the route. Cars are parked - at the Watchman parking area, while a hike of one- half mile la made to trie summit of the Watchman, 8039 feet. An ob servation and fire lookout station la maintained there, giving visitors an opportunity of learning a number of Intrlcaclea of fire detection. A launch leaves the boat landing dally at 0 a. m. for s hour trip around the shores of the lake. A ranger-naturalist accompanies the trip for which a fee la oharged by the private concessionaire. At 1:30 p. m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday a hike Is scheduled to the summit of Wizard Island, 768 feet high. The trip consumes four hours and en. talla a boat fee. Informal discussions are presented at 10:80 a. -m. and 8:00 p. m. at the Slnnott memorial observation station In the rim vlllag area.
