VETERANS OF WAR WITH SPAIN MEET E- JULY 11-14 State Conventions Of Vets, Auxiliary And Chapters Will Have Full Program Parade Is July 13th Final plana are being rapidly com pleted by Colonel Sargent Camp and auxiliary of Medford, which will play boat to the 39th annual atate en campment of ihe United Spanish War Veterana July 11 and 14 Inclusive. An expected 800 delegates will be given a real southern Oregon wel come, officials aay. Various committees In charge of the program and meeting placea have designated the Hotel Medford as headquarters for the camp and aux iliary; the Hotel Allen headquarters for the Snalx; the Elks temple for the ladles' auxiliary; and the armory for the camp and the Order of the Serpent. Register At Hotel The convention will open on the morning of July 11 when all dele gates will register at the Hotel Med ford. During the afternoon, visiting, delegates will be taken by motor car to the many points of Interest In the valley. At 8:18 Sunday night, memor ial exercises will be held In the First Presbyterian church, with the address being given by J. G. Snow of Forest Grove, department chaplain, James Stevens, Mrs, Elsie Strang and other local musicians will add to the mem orial exercise program. At 9.-30 a. m. July 13, all dele gates and vial tors will form a parade, and led by the Medford high school band and two drum corps together with the Scout Young drum corps of Portland, will march to the Rial to theatre where a Joint session of the eamp and auxiliary will convene. The address of welcome will be given by mayor ueonge rorier. Banquet July 12 The official banquet will ba given Veterans Leader ( i i.r 1 Joe E. The Elks band will lead the parade, fol lowed by the two national guard units, the high school bands, and drum corps, and the Kilty band of Ashland, The following organizations have been Invited to take part In the parade: O.A.ft. veterans, a old Star Mothers, the V.F.W. and auxil iary, American Legion and auxiliary, Salvation Army, Grants Pass Cave ment, Crater club, the 40 et 8, Engles drill teams, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. In the Elks temple dining room at 6:30 p. m. July 12. Following the banquet, the Medford high school and Elks bands will present a musical program. The convention ball . will take place at Dreamland dunce hall starting at 0:30 p. m., with music by mi Price and his orchestra. CROWD EXPECTED AT CRATER LAKE CRATER LAKE, July J. (Bpl.) Preparations have been completed to provide for one of the largest Fourth of July crowds In the history of this park. Crater Lake is expected to be a popular attraction for thousands of visitors from local and out-of-state points. All park concessions and naturalist services will be In operation, the lat ter offering guided field trips to different points of Interest by trail and by launch excursions. Rowboats will be available for fishing. Ang ling here has been termed the best on the Pacific coast and In a recent national magazine Crater Lake waa given credit for being the beat stocked body of water In the United States. Picnic rncllltlea are available at different camp grounds In the park, with the beat camping at Annie Spring. Many vUltors are expected to move back and forth between Dia mond Lake and Crater Lake over the recently opened north entrance road.
