Many doga have been maimed by the careless tossing of firecrackers while valuable bird- dogs have been ruined for field work by being frightened when they were pups, the society emphasized. Menus of the Day By Mrs, Alexander George DINNER SERVING FOUR Carrot Ring and Creamed Mixture Sliced Buttered Beeta Bread Peach Jam Head Lettuce Rusalan Dressing Dutch Cherry Cske Coffee (Hot or Iced) Carrot Ring 2 eupa cooked carrots. 3 eggs. 2-3 cup soft bread. 1 cup milk (hot), 1 tableapoon minced parsley, 1 tablespoon minced onions. 1- 8 teaspoon aalt. 14 teaspoon paprika. Cook carrots In boiling water until very tender when teated with a fork. Drain thoroughly and while hot press through a coarse strainer. Add to the rest of the Ingredients. Pour Into a buttered ring mold. Set In a psn of hot wster and bake 30 mln utea In a moderate oven. Let etand five minutes In the water. Unmold carefully and fill with creamed mix ture. Creamed Mixture 4 tablespoons butter. 4 tablespoons flour. 3 cupa milk. 3 hard-cooked eggs. 2- 8 cup cooked peaa. 1 tablespoon minced plmlentsa. 14 teaspoon aalt. V4 teaspoon paprika. 4 teaspoon celery aalt. 1 egg yolk. Mix butter and flour. Add milk and cook until a creamy sauce forma, stirring constantly. All eggs, pass and seasoning. Cook two minutes. Add yolk. Mix end serve Immedi ately. Dutch Cherry Cake 114 cupa flour. 3 tablespoons bsklng powder. 14 cup granulated augar. 14 teaspoon aalt. 8 tablespoons fat. 1 egg. 14 cup milk. Mix the flour, baking powder. augar and aalt. Cut In the fat and add egg and milk. Mix lightly and pour Into shallow pan. well greased. Spread with topping. Topping " 4 tableapoona butter. 3-8 cup light brown augar. 3-8 cup seeded cherries. 14 teaspoon cinnamon. Mix the Ingredients and apread on the sdft dough. Bake 30 mlnutea In a moderate oven.
