H, Jone In the Jackaonvlll Presbyterian church. At tending the young couple were Mra. Lee Cable of Los Angeles, matron Of honor; Miss Virginia Quleenbery of Portland, cousin of the bride bridesmaid; Joe Carlon, Portland, brother of the groom, beat man, and Richard Carlon of Portland, also a brother of the groom. Mlsaea Audrey and' Luis Metzger and Ruth Boggs received the guests. i The bride waa given In marriage by her father. Preceding the ceremony, Mabel Sims played Incidental music at tne piano accompanied Kathryn wendt, who aang "At Dawning" and "I Love You." The wedding party entered to Mendelssohn wedding march. The bride wore white net over white satin with a tulle veil and carried a bouquet of white rose buds, aweet peas and baby breath. Her attendants were dressed In simi lar gown of blue with white pic ture hats and harmonizing bouquets. Ruga bouquet of roses, lilies, del phinium, daisies and other flowers decorated the church. A reception at the home of the bride's parents fotcloae Wends and relatives followed the ceremony. Bride and groom left for San Fran cisco following the reception. They will return here to make their home after a week In the south. Out of town guests 'Included Mr. and Mra. W. E. The bride la a graduate of Jack eohvllle schools and also atudled In Loa Angelea. - Mr. Carlon attended Oregon state college. Miss Lindsay -la Feted at shower. , Mlaa Lola Llndsey, bride-elect, waa honoree at a surprise shower ar ranged yesterday afternoon by mem bera of the Medford Zonta club. - The affair waa luncheon at the Hotel Medford with Mra. Ethelwyn B. Hoffmann presiding at the table. A large number of glfta were pre sented Miss Llndsey, whose marriage to Oerald Latham la to be an event of next Saturday. Present were Mra. Hoffmann, Miss Josephine Klrtley, Bernlce Cameron, Blanche Prlsble, Maude Snider, Zoe Hurd, Florence Leonard, Blanche Le Cleroi Anita Robertson, Grace Holmea, Stella Merrick, Etfle Kurte, Phyllis Bwearlngen, Mabel Conger, Thorn Lawrence and the honor guest. Medford Guild Members Quests. A large group of membera of St. Mark'a guild were among the 16 guest at a luncheon arranged Fri day afternoon by the Trinity guild at the Ashland parish house. Rooms and tables were decorated with aweet peas and blue delphin ium, arranged by Mrs. E. M. Wallln. Mrs. Oordon MacCracken, Mra. J. M. Wagner and Mra. John Puller re celved the gueata. Arrangementa were made by Mlaa Lydla McCall, general chairman, who waa assisted by Mes damea t. R. Bateman, P. P. Whit more, Charlea Oullbert and others. About thirty Medford guests were present. gpeclal Session rianned Tonight Membera of the Medford Business and Professional Women'a club will be entertained tonight at the home of Mra. M. M. Snider, 10 North Orange atreet. The special bulsnesa aeaalon will open at 7:30 o'clock. All offlcera and committee chairmen are to present yearly reports preceding closing of the club year July 1. All members are particularly urged to be present. This Is to be the last format session of the club until September, although plcnlca and outdoor recreations are planned for thevtummer montha. Miss Mary Louise Roberson, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Rob erson of Ashland and Howard May berry, aon of Mr. and Mr. H. H. Mayberry, also of Ashland, were mar ried In a quiet ceremony here this morning. The couple took their vows at the home of Rev. Sherman L. Divine, who read the service at 10:80 o'clock. Only members of the Immediate families were present. The young couple plan to make their home In California. Women to Meet For Tuesday Golf, Women of the Rogue Valley golf club will gather at the club course tomorrow ftrnoon to participate In ladles' day activities. Luncheon Is planned for 12:30 o'clock In the clubhouse. Arrange ments are being made by Mra. F. O. Bunch. Mrs. Harold Johnson and Mrs. Sam Colton. Cold drinks will be available at booths and sand wiches may be procured at the air port cafe. During the evening pilots will take passengers up for night flights, over the valley, Mr. Hubbard said. The big hangar floor was being prepared today for the dance. The floor will be scraped, cleaned with gasoline and polished with wax to put It In first-class condition for dancing, Mr. Hubbard said. A small stage will be erected for the orches tra, all planes will be removed and 300 chairs will be placed against the walls, he added. The public la Invited to attend the dance and meet the visiting pilots. Tickets will be on sale at the door. Prior to the dance the pilots wilt be entertained at dinner In the Hotel Medford by the Crater club. Pour new members are to be Initiat ed by the club and possibly a few of the pilots will be made honorary membera. The dinner will be served at 7 o'clock. The Eagles lodge today volunteered to take care of the aale of tickets to the aircraft exposition and sky show at the air port. Twenty-five men are needed to sell the tickets at the various entrances to the airport and lodge members who wish to assist were asked to communicate with Mr. Pelrce, A. H. Banwell or Wil liam Peck. Mr. Peck will be In charge of the ticket-selling staff. It Is expected that the airport will be crowded all day and for conven ience tt waa urged that tickets be procured In advance If possible. The tickets may be obtained from mem bers of the aeronautic association or at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. A great array of planes of all types will be lined up in the morn ing for public Inspection. A campfire ceremony before the chalet at the Oregon Caves resort Fri day night united In marriage Mlaa Bertha Irene Abbott of Long Beach, Calif., and Arthur Deforest Crlbb of Cavea Junction, Or. Rev. Herman 8. Relchard of the Grant Pass Presbyterian church per formed the service before about 100 friends, guest and employes of the resort. The bride waa attended by Mrs. M. M. Nelson of Caves Junction aa matron of honor and Chief Ranger M. M. Nelson, atatoned at the Red woods ranger staton, was best man. Music before and after the cere mony waa by membera of the resort crew, directed and accompanied by Miss Coral Auave of Vancouver, Wn. The groom Is a forest guard of the Siskiyou national forest, formerly at Star Oulch. The coupl left for a honeymoon on the coast and will make their home near the caves for the present. MINE ASSESSMENT WAIVERS PILE UP Filing of exemptions for assessment work on Jackson county placer and quartz mine claims took a substan tial jump at the clerk's office today as the July 1 deadline approached. Tho bill waiving for the current fiscal year the annual $100 assess ment work required on mining claims was signed by President Roosevelt late last wek. For June to the close of business yesterday 130 affidavits showing as sessment work completed for the year were filed In the clerk's office. In the same period 34 exemptions were filed, most of them within the psst few days. A large stack of affidavits and ex emption claims, probably twloe as many as for the rest of the month combined, was received this morning, the clerk's office said. They were not immediately sorted and filed but it was indicated that about half of them were exemption claims. Interment will take place In the Siskiyou Mem orial park. SETTLEMENT IN AUTO CRASH SUIT The $4000 damage suit of Mrs. Josephine Cota, against H. Van Hoe venberg, and his employee, O. L. Llndley, was settled out of court vesterrUy afternoon, after a special venire had been drawn to complete the Jury In circuit court. Shortly after the opening of the afternoon session, counsel announced that a settlement sad been reached, and filed a motion for a. voluntary non-suit. The suit was based on an auto accident on the Sams Vslley high way, when a car driven by tlndley and the Cota auto were In collision. Mrs. Cota In her complaint alleged ahe waa Injured. The accident oc curred a year ago. In a similar action filed by her busaand. a circuit court Jury re turned a verdict In his favor for 260. PROSPECT VOTES FOR 1 The Prospect school district at an election held last week, voted 25 to 18 for the Issuance of a.47,600 In bonds for the erection of a new high school building, and improve ment to the present one.
