Eugene C. Golden, whose place Mr. Mace took here, was recently transferred to the Los An geles district when the Monterey district, whither he went from Hed ford, was disbanded. Mr. Mace has been In the CCC ed ucational service since 1934, hie first assignment being In this district. He served as adviser at several Medford district camps before being advanced to the position of coordinator. Officers said that Mr. Mace's work has been outstanding, particularly In the vocational training field. He has become recognized as an organiser and educator who has a thorough un derstanding of the educational needs 01 CCC enroll ees. The Medford district educational program and accomplishments, off liters pointed out, have frequently been commended by headquarters. Following his conviction June 8, to which he pleaded not guilty following a complaint filed by Archie Pierce that Keagle had forced several ears off the road between Central Point an d Med f ord , Just 1 oe of the Peace William R. Coleman gave Keagle four days In which to dispose of property before starting his sentence. Mr. and Mrs. Schumacher were un til last month proprietors of Ray's Market In Talent, food store which they had operated for the past five yr.ara. It was purchased by Mrs. Ithel Low of Grants Pass. Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter have op erated the Grants Pass Band Box In conjunction with the original Med ford establishment of the same name for the past sereral years. It Is not known whether they plan expansion of their business elsewhere. It Is expected Mr. and Mrs. Schu macher will personally oporate the Grants Pass store. The huge craft, largest on United States transport lines, was in port here for an hour, departing for Oak land at 12:11. It had 13 passengers aboard when It arrived and 17 when It left, a smaller United plane bring ing five southbound passengers from lortlsnd for transfer to the Main- liner here. A Medford passenger also arrived on the plane from Portland. All airmail on hand was dispatched by the postofflce on the two planes, the smaller of which returned to Portland.
