Some damage to hay and fall grain oops oi the valley hu resulted from heavy rainfall of the past few days, County Agent R. O. Fowler stated to day. Extent of the damage cannot be immediately determined, Fowler aaid. The heavy downpours have knocked down givln In all part of the valley but portions of the crop may recover, It was pointed out. The precipitation has been of aid to truck farmers for the most part, Fowler aald, except In the case of strawberries which have suffered to varying degrees. No or chard damage has been noted. Manning. 34, of Ban Fran ctaco, driver for the Pacific Truck Kx pre company was fined $20 and MJO costs by Judge William R. Cole man in Justice of the peace court thla morning for operating an over loaded truck. . His truck was weighed by state po lice yesterday on the scales south of Medford when Manning was en route from Portland to Redding with load of produce. His legal limit of 48,800 pounds was iverwelght by 1,700 pounds, police told the court. Estel L. Parle, a a. Roe burg, also driver for the Pacific Truck 1 press company was fined W and costs yesterday for speeding at 48 to SO miles an hour while he was travel Ing north on Pacific highway near Phoenix. . O. Coleman, employed at the company's office here, appeared for both Manning and Paris and entered pleas of guilty. John L. Rogers, 40, an Itinerant, was fined $1 and costs this morning for operating a. truck without a dri ver's license. He pleaded guilty and was given until July 1 to pay. Rogers and his family were travel ling north from California In the tiuck on which was constructed a house. He was pouring gasoline from a. Jug Into the tank near Phoenix Yes terday when a atate trooper stopped to offer assistance and discovered that Rogers had no operator's license. Rogers was quoted as saying be would atop In Medford for the night and he was- given a citation to lus tlce court. He continued north, how ever, and was arrested near Rogue River, police reported. Rogers told the court he would return to Califor nia and go to work. He said he had simply neglected to get a license In California where a- drivers license may be procured without cost. - PROF.
