Of tha forests of stately trees;
And the bracing touch of the frosty

Ot the big log-fire in our cosy shack.
Again we could see the long, steep

That led to the ranch below,
where once a week we went for mall

And think of delightful evenings

As we read In the papera each new

At length came Spring, with a warm

That melted the drifts of snow;
our beautiful season of . rest , was

To the city we had to go;
But never did I. nor ever did Bess
Forget our shack In the wilderness.
I have heard the legend of Adam and
Eve
In their Garden of mortal bliss,
But that Is a story I don't believe
And the reason Is simply this
The Garden of Eden was Just a shack,
Surrounded by fir and tamarack.
