Fire In Auto Fire late yesterday afternoon did nominal damage to the unholsterlng of a 1030 roadster own ed by Clifford Clark of Trail. The car had Just been parked on West Sixth street near Grape street when the fire occurred. The blaze, put out by the fire department's chemical crew, was attributed to a cigarette left burning on the seat. Deputy Returns Leo McLain, United States deputy marshal, re turned this morning from Portland whither he transported four federal prisoners earlier In the week. Mr. McLain said he plans to leave here on May 28 to return to his post on the marshal's staff In Portland. The Medford oflce, he said, will be taken over on June 1 by Paul Hanlln, resi dent here, who la now being trained as deputy marshal In the Portland office. 4 TO BE HELD HERE The union of five Medford churches for outdoor vesper service during the I summer was announced today. The services will be held in city psrk near the public library from 6:30 to 0:30 every Sunday evening from Julv 4 to Seotember 5. lnclu- I slve. The park bandstand and benches will be utilized for the services. Churches participating In the union vesper service are the First Metho dist Episcopal, St. Mark's Episcopal, First Christian, First Presbyterian and the Southern Methodist Epis copal.
