W. which la to be an event of Saturday evening at 8:90 o'clock In the main dining room of the Hotel Medford. Members are to bring gueeta and a large crowd la expected. Thla la to be the last gathering of the year for the group and la among most outstanding events of the year for members. Miss Mary Brown la to be toaat mistress and others taking part are to be Mrs. Allen Perry, Mrs. D. H. perry and Miss Mary Louise Foster. A special gueat speaker la to be pres ent from out of town, the Identity of whom will not be disclosed until the Introduction. Muslo Is to be furnished by Frederick OueUlaff, baritone. Tickets may be procured until 8 p. m. tomorrow evening at Render's shop on North - Bartlett street.- After thst time, tickets may only be se cured at the hotel. Mrs. Phillips to Lecture Saturday Much Interest la being manifest In the benefit lecture on gardens and cathedrals to bo presented at St. Mark's guild hall Saturday evening at 8:15 o'clock by Mrs. Martha Phil ltpi, noted garden consultant of the Pacific coast. Mrs. T. M, Hlgglns, former Med ford resident now living In Oakland, Calif., writes to friends here com mending Mrs. Phillips lectures, with which she Is acquainted. Mrs. Phillips Is returning south from a spesklng tour of Washington, Victoria and Oregon. At the comple tion of her present tour, she plans a trip to the orient for further study, She Is an acquaintance of Rev, E. 8, Bartlam. Her lecture la to be Illus trated with screen pictures. Junior Week-End Attracting Many A number of Medford student, are planning to attend Junior week-end festivities at the Oregon Bute college beginning tomorrow, when campus students will entertain vial tors from all over the state. (Tea room favorites but they can esslly be made at home.) Dinner serving Four or Five. Chilled Fruit Juices Broiled Veal Chops Buttered Spinach Creamed Cauliflower Pecan Rolla Butter Celery Plcklea Chocolate Meringue Pudding Coffee Pecan Bolls. (The Sticky Kind.) 1 cake compressed yeaat 1 tablespoons lukewarm water t teaspoon salt 3 egga 1-8 cup sugar 1 cup boiling water I tablespoons fat, melted 4 cups flour Mix yeast and lukewarm water for S mlnutea. Add salt, sugar and fat to boiling water and cool until luke warm. Add with rest of Ingredients to the yeast mixture. Blend thor oughly. Cover and let rise until doubled In size. (About t hours will be required In a room of 11 degrees temperature.) Roll out the dough until It la half an Inch thick. Spread with the filling. Roll up like jelly roll about 1(4 lnchea thick. Cut off one-half Inch slices and place, flat sides up, In a shallow pan lined with syrup. Cover and let rtse about a hours or until the rolla have doubled In aire. Bake 30 mlnutea In a mod erate oven. Turn out, with the atlcky side up. It Is usually advisable to divide the dough Into two parts and maka two rolla, as they are more easily handled. Filling. 4 tablespoons soft butter 1 cup brown sugar H cup pecana 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Mix Ingredients and spread on the' soft dough, Syrup, 11J cups dark brown sugar cup water a tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 54 cup pecana K teaspoon salt. Boll sugar and water a minutes. Add rest of Ingredients. Cool and pour Into baking pans. WILSON STRAIGHTENS. HISTORY ON COUNCIL R. B. Wilson, son of 3. R. Wilson who built the old opera house that, used to stand at the present location of the Lewis super service station, calls attention to the fact that a town meeting In 1891, as recalled In the April 1 Issue of the Mall Tribune. waa held In the old opera, house In tha Fluhrer building and not In the opera house built by his father. DECORATION DAY PLANS OUTLINED BY CITY GROUPS A meeting of representatives of veteran and patriotic organizations was held at the Hotel Medford Wed nesday evening to make plans and arrangements for observance of Deco ration Day In Medford. Because Decoration Day, May 80, falls on Sunday this year, the pro gram will be on Monday, May 31. The general plan will be similar to those of recent years'. A patri otic parade will leave the City park at 8:30 a. m. and move to Bear creek bridge where there will be brief ex ercises. Then there will be appro priate ceremonies at the City park. AU fraternal, social and civic bet terment organizations of this com munity are Invited to take part !n the parade, and they and the g public are Invited to attend th. monies In City park.
