Mrs. Werder formerly was the wlfo
of Boy E. Burnett, Jr who played
baseball at ran Jose State college.
Werder. a former track star at
Stanford, and Burnett were closo
friends, and both were employed by

Their unusual romance with each
ether'a wive began In November,
1938. Then both wive went to Reno
and. lived together while establishing
residence for divorce.
The husbands batched together
meanwhile and the wlvea were
"swapped" after the divorces were ob
tained. The baby 'was Mr. Werder' first

daughter by hi former wife.

sent the bird on Us way with a
note telling where It hsd been kill
ing time.
Young's threa sons began raising
the pigeons two years ago as a hob
by. When Mrs. Young went to the
hospital, Younk took a basket of
birds along and released them with
hourly bullet Ins on her condition.
After learning their route, the
pigeons flew regularly from hospital
to home roost In 30 minutes.
