LONDON (UP) The BrltUfe army will present at AlderAhot next June th grpntpftt mllttftrv paRpnnt ever staged the coronation tattoo pro claiming allegiance to and affection for the new king. Incidentally, military authorities confidently hope that this last word In flag-waving will give needed stimulation to recruiting. The tattoo 1 an annual affair to benefit army charities. Last year more than 8,000 troops In military uniform of all the ages performed before 480,600 spectators. This year, In honor of the coronation, the tat too will be on a much more elabor ate scale and already advance sale of tickets la more than double this time last year. Special Music Written. Typical of the gigantic spectacle planned will be one number In which a military band of more than 1.000 musician will play music written especially for the occasion. A mrxWn battle. Involving the ex tensive use of mechanized units, wllJ show Britons their army In action. For comparison, another unit will portray the soldier of Charles I. demonstrating the drills and tactics of that ancient day. Soldier-actors will re-enact the "Passage of the Douro," a stirring In cident of the Peninsular war. Cav alry and Infantry massed bands will march and wheel, playing entirely from memory the special, Intricate tattoo music. 1 The banners of the dominions, col onies and states of the empire will parade and assemble In salute to the Union Jack. "Keep Fit" to Be StreMd. A physical training display will be Included as the army's contribution to the national "keep fit" campaign Highlanders will swish their plaid kilts and lift bare knee behind mans ed hands of bngptp- Evolution with lanterns will provide novel light ing effects of beauty. Tre finale will be a royal pageant on a grand scale. Introducing the banera and royal bodyguards of the kings and queens of England since William I. Orandstands seating 80.000 persons have bern built around the huge arena. Eight performances will be held, on June 10, 11, 12 and 15-19 Inclusive. Another miliary spectacle among coronation pageant will be the cele bration by th honorable artillery company of London of that organis ation's 400th birthday. On May 37 Its Infantry battalion and batteries will march past the king at Olympla as the opening event of a series of a n n 1 versa ry cele brta Ions. American visitors are expected to be especially Interested In the spec tacle as trm honorable artillery com pany of Boston, Itself 300 years old, is an offshoot of the London com pany. A contingent of 100 men from the Boston campany will take part in the London celebrations.
