Van Hoevenberg. continued today In circuit court and la expected to be concluded late today or early tomor row morning. Cot seeks $1,650 alleged damages M the result of an auto crash last cummer on the Bams Valley road, between the Cota euto and a Van Hoevenberg truck driven by Lindley. A companion suit, filed by Mrs. Josephine Cota, seeks (4000 for al leged personal Injuries, sustained In accident. It U set for next Fri day. j damage suit of Jeanne R. Wood against H. E. Miller, practi tioner and hie assistant, Louise Bates, for personal injury Is sched uled to start upon completion of the present suit. B-H Dredge Moves To Company Land The B-H Dredging company, oper ating on Poorman's creek, completed lta operation on leased ground last Saturday and the dredge has been moved to company land and la work ing there now, Manager Jack Hor ner reporta, Horner states that the returns from dredging on lecsed property has been "satisfactory." The dredge started operating February 11. TRIAL OF FIELDS Trial of William O. Fields, 62. Jacksonville, Indicted for aecond de gree murder for the slaying Febru ary 6 of M. M. Mow, 40, Ashland laborer, has not been definitely set but It la anticipated U will be called about June 10. Fields, in a statement, admits he shot Mow as the climax of a triangle love affair Involving Fielda estrang ed wife. Fields claims he shot in self-defense. The shooting occurred In the home of Fields' wife in Jacksonville. Fields haa been held In the county Jail since the affair and has not been feeling well the district attor ney reports. His vondltlon Is not re garded as serious. Benefit Program Planned By Choir The First Christian church choir will give an evening of "Music of Many Lsnds" at the church Friday at 8 o'clock. A string quartet, solos, duets, trios and mixed quartet will be given tn costumes of the country represented, and the entire chorus will be cos tumed for part of the program. A free-will offering will be taken for benefit of Sunday schools In the eastern flood districts and as the choir's contribution to this fund. New Painting Ideas Shown Painters and Dealers at Meeting Bringing new Ideas developed by the painting Industry to Medford, the Nationsl Lead company, makers of Dutch Boy paint producta, pre sented to the master painters and paint dealers of tjiis city an inter esting program In connection with their annual diuner meeting held at Hotel Medford last evening. Their promotion representatives. Frank T. Rosa and Wm. D. Herman, who have Just returned from a gen eral meeting called by the National Lead company for the purpose of gathering the most up-to-date in formation on prrent trends in dec orative practices, held the attention of their guests until a Uta hour. Garland R. Je.ude, local represen tative of the paint company, was chairman or the meeting. By actual demonstrations the new idea of "Styling Paint' was developed. Sug gestions were made for lending in terest to exterior color schemes and bringing houses Into harmony with their aurroundlpgs. The painters were also shown how to adopt to present day exteriors and Interiors the modern trend In the use of col ors and color schemes. A talking picture, "The Winning Formula," educational In Its Intent, but also of an entertaining nature, was one of the main feat urea of the program. In It painters and paint dealers were urged to use newspaper and other advertising, as well as proper selling methods, to bring to the attention of property -owners the fact that it pays to hire good paint ers and use quality products. b. l. oeaton, Portland Branch manager, also attended the meeting.
