Coach Bill Bower nian'a Tigers and the Cavemen will both enter about two dozen perform ers. Central Point Is expected to send around 13 men, Kerby will probably enter eight or 10 athletee. and Phoe nix about half that many. Although Medford and Grants Psaa are figured to cop most of the flrit nnd second positions, there Is possi bility that one or more of tho B class high schools will surprise with win ners. The game v.lll be call ed at 3:30 sharp and will be free to the public. The game will be an exhibition affair, with the locals probably using most of their entire squad. The en counter was scheduled as part of the welcome to be extended the huge convoy of fighting men who will stop hare Tuesday night on their way to Fort Lewis for maneuvers of the third division. With Mike Balkovlck, assistant football coach at Willamette uni versity, expected In Medford Sunday to take over the management of the team and coaching of the summer baseball school sponsored by the Medford Athletic association, the lo cals will go through a stiff workout 8inday morning at 10 o'clock at the high school field. On the baals of that practice wlU probably be chosen the starting lineup Tuesday, according to Austin Frazler, associ ation secretary. Rain and wet field has hampered dally workouts of the local club all week, with very little intensive prac tice being done since last Sunday. A record turnout Is expected day after tomorrow to answer Manager Balkovlcks opening practice call. Although the Medford pitch In? staff Is still In the formative stag. with Ray Erickson the lone hurlot of any great experience turning out. It Is expected that sufficient strength on the mound will be uncovered be fore the battle Tuesday. Whether Erickson, a sweet righthander, can go tho route so early In tho season is problematical. Alvin Merritt, who saw action with the Medford Amer ican Legion team several years ago. will probably bo ready to work a few frames, as will Ray Tun gate, mem ber of last year's club, but who hasn't turned out for practice yet. All posts on the team are wide open, and It will be upon perform ances from now until the league opener on May 3 that will determine the regulars.
