According to these figures, 88.000 turkeys went to mar ket. The turkey population has been estimated at between 60,000 and 65, 000 birds.: The county Agent said he had no way to determine what proportion of the birds hsd been sold locally, aa a result of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce "Eat-Mors-Turkey" drive. "The campaign was a great help In enabling the small growers to dispose of their turkeys," said the county agent. The price waa lower than last year, with the turkeya selling from IT to 19 and 22 conta per pound. Some of the growera are reported to have held thoir turkeya for the Chrlstmaa holiday trade, with the hope the price will be higher. Phone 542. Woll haul away your refuse. City Sanitary Service.
