The long awaited and much herald
ed production of "Anthony Adverse."
filmed from Hervey Allen' famous
novel, which boasts of 3,000,000 read
ers, comes to the Holly theater today
for a three-day run, with Predric
March In the title role and Olivia de
Havlland playing opposite him In the
feminine lead.
In Its panoramic story sweep
through five countries, and three con
tinent, the magnitude of Its 131 sets,
the picturesqueness of its back
grounds, the gigantic scale on which
It was produced and the vast num
ber of talented players In Its cast,
'Anthony Adverse' Is said by those
who have seen the preview to be the
most pretentious piece of entertain
ment In Hollywood.
The novel, which took Hervey Allen
four years to write, was finally
whipped Into Its finished screen form
after more than two years of arduous
labor on the part of nearly 3000 tech
nicians, in addition to more than 2500
players who portray the many char
acters seen in the film.
In dynamic action, Intense drama,
glamorous romance and thrilling ad
venture, probably no story was ever
better fitted for screen material. The
producers said to have caught all the
vividness, the fire and color of the
original and to have transmitted It to
the film.
The cast Is a tremendous one In
y,, size and remarkable for the number
of talented players, there being ninety-eight
speaking parts, with 3550 bit
players and extras appearing. Be

of turkey Thankmivlnff day, navy
commissary officials estimated today.
Also ordered for the 30,000 holiday
dinners aboard ship are: cranberries,
1,000 .pounds, sweet potatoes J 0,400
pounds: assorted nuts, 6,000 pounds,
and huge stacks of pumpkin and

yolk eggs are fairly common, but
three-yolk ones are rare.

A Hero Dies
PATERS ON, N. J., Nov. 31. (AP)
With cheers of high school students
ringing In his ears, William D.
Plumb, 75. believed to have been the
last survivor or the crew of the U.
S. 8. Constitution, dropped dead on
the school prat form after presenting
a picture of his beloved "Old Ironsides."

Searchers reported 250 bodies had

Some of the bodies were dug from
20 feet of muck residue left by a

terday from the burstcd dam of a
copper mine reservoir.
The torrent, carrying a poisonous
solution from the mine operations,
virtually wiped out this village and
four others.
School officials said there were at

alone.
