FOR HEARING
Jack Lane. 30, of Toledo, Ohio, re
being held today for Investigation of
the Jackson county grand Jury on a
change of forgery. He pleaded guilty
In Ashland Justice court yesterday
afternoon and was bound over by
Judg L. A. Roberts.
Lane was accused 'of passing bad
ehecka for small amount in Medford
and Ashland. He wae arrested In Ash
land while assertedly receiving cash
for a 110 check on the Medford
branch of the First "national Bank
of Portland. The check, police said,
was signed by "Mr. James Valentine"
and made out to "Mr. Jack Lane,"

(A Seasonable Dessert)
Dinner Serving Four
(Using leftovers, too) .
Lamb Meat Cakea
Tomatoes Savory
Buttered Spinach
Bread Peace Conserve
Celery and Apple Salad
Steamed Pig Pudding Hard Sauce
Coffee
Lamb Meat Cakes
(Using Cooked Meat)
154 etipa cooked lamb
S-S cup cooked potatoes
1 teaspoon chopped celery
I teaspoon chopped parsley
!4 teapsoon minced onion
8 tablespoons gravy or milk
M cup flour
3 ta.blespoon fat or gravy
Mix lamb with potatoes, seasonings
and gravy, shape Irlto cakes and roll
In flour. Place In frying pan (small
slied) and cover with fat. Bake or
broil 10 minutes.
Tomatoes Savory
S tablespoons butter '
3 tablespoons flour
Ii4 cup tomatoes '
!4 teaspoon salt
, 14 teaspoon paprika
!4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
Melt butter and add flour. When
mixed, add tomatoes and cook until
thick. Add reat of. Ingredient. Serve
poured over and around lamb cakes.
Steamed Fig Pudding
1 eup bread crumb j
Vt cup flour !
Yt cup sugar ;
1 cup chopped figs . . j

Mix Ingredient. Half fill greased

Cream butter ana cream. Add rest
of Ingredient. Beat well, chill and
