Culbertson, municipal airport manager, stated In a report submitted last night to the city council. "We have plenty of apace for prea- nt-day airplanes, but the planes of the future will undoubtedly require a greater landing area," the report continued. "United Air Lines has an nounced purchase of several new Douglas transport planes, which will have a cruising speed of 1B0 miles an hour, while carrying 34 passengers. They will have a wing spread of 05 feet. "These plane are merely fore runner of the enormous ships now in process of construction. Several prominent airplane factories are building four-motored giants which will soar across the skyways while carrying more than 40 passengera and a crew of five. Equipped with all the advantages of home, these new planes will probably be put Into service with Jn the next 16 months." Municipal airport was utilized by 972 planes In October, Mr. Oulbert son's report showed. CP An Indictment charging John and Coke Brits, brothers, with the allying of three men. was returned by the Sis kiyou county grand Jury today. The brothers wore charged with killing Deputy Shorlffa Martin Uw. and Joe Clark, and Captain Fred Sou born of Vallejo at Home creek, near here, on the morning of last August 10. The court set November' 0 for ar raignment and Sheriff W. O. Chand ler was ordered to have the Brltes In court at that tune. The shootings occurred when the officers, aocompanled by Seaborn, went to arrest the brothers on as sault charges. Riding from posies In the face of lynching threats, the brothers finally surrendered three weeks later to District Attorney James Da. la and were taken to Folsom pris on for safekeeping.
