tion letter demanded $25,000 from

traced the letter to a mlld-mannar-ed,
16-year-old school boy In Atlanta.

Thirteen of the September fatal
ities were pedestrians. The other

Seven of the deaths occurred in
Multnomah county, five In Klamath
county, four In Jackson county, two
each In Coos and Tillamook coun
ties, and one each in ciacKamu.

an application for farm benefit pay
ments, AAA officials said today that
special provision! had been made to
enable them to Qualify for a share of
the 1470,000.000 to be distributed this
year.
Secretary Wallace recently approved
a special order for these payments.
Under It, the county AAA committees
may certify payment applications
without signature by typing tna name
of the farmer and adding "unsigned
religious scruples."
The farmer must appear, however,
and orally affirm that the applica
tion is correct.
