Th Mountain States Construction company crew was busy Thursday tearing up about 300 fret of narrow blacktop pavement near the Southern Oregon . The portion from the Bellvlew school to the soutb end of , the 1.88 mile contract will be opened full width tomorrow and the bar ricades will be moved iooo feet north each day, about the amount paved in one day. A contract will probably be let in Kovember for six miles of concrete und asphalt pavement from the pres ent Job to Siskiyou station, which will get underway after the first of the year. It will complete the paving of the present graded roadbed, even Including the McNutt Brothers con tract still In progress. The next grading contract to be awarded. E. Bostrom who waa recently appointed as assistant to Dr. Strieker. The two state officers met with the board of the Jackson County Health association at the court house to advise the group of a new children's fund which will be made available to the association af ter the first of the year. The fund la an outgrowth of the 8heppard-j Towner act paseri by con er car sev eral years ago and la for the use of children's general welfare. Dr. Striek er explained the technical dots lis necessary In procuring a share of this fund and Introduced Dr. Bos trom to the board. Dr. Strieker and Dr. Bostrom were also guests at the regular dinner meeting of the Jackson County Med ical association at the Hotel Medford Wednesday night. Dr. Bostrom was In troduced t about 30 members and guests. Dr. B. E. Green was host for the session and Dr. Dwlght H. Find' ley presented the paper of the eve ning. Dr. L. D. Inskcep conducted Dr. Strieker and Dr. Bostrom on an In spection tour of the city's new sewage disposal plant early yesterday morn ing, after which the visiting doctors continued to Klamath Falls where they were to meet with doctors and health workers of that section.
