Fathers, . mothers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and older brothers and sisters will be interested in these colorful, simple, durable and easily made toys for children of pre-sc'r.Cjoi age 1 to 6 years. Come and get ideas for Christ mas presents, birthday presents, or Jits to sell. Those whA come to tho Meeting may sign for a free pamphlet of directions for making homemada toys, which will be Issued by tho Oregon State college home economics extension s?rvice the latter part of October. Other features of the family living conference will Include an exhibit of free and Inexpensive pamphlets deal ing with many problems of family relationship and child development. Mrs. Mnud Morse, extension ape- clallst in parent education, will speak on the subject. "How Has Time Changed Family Relationships?"' This topic will bring to your mind many questions. Bring your questions to ,thc meeting, where you may discuss them In the group, or you may put them In the "question box." which Mrs. Morse will open for Impersonal discussion during the afternoon ses sion. The "question box" is Included this yaer by request because many who attend meetings have questions which they would like to have dis cussed, but are hesitant about ask ing them in front of the group. All homcmakers of Jackson county x are invited to attend this conference. 'QftGrnlng session begins at' 10 a, m. and the afternoon session will close at 3:30. Those attending are asked to bring an individual lunch box. Coffee will be served by tho commit tee In charge. A nursery school will be provided for pre-schooi ago chil dren where they may play under su pervision while their mother attend the meeting. Arrangements for the meeting arc being made by Mabel C. Mack, home demonstration agent for Jackson county. TO SURVEY REQUESTS First formal sesolon or the Jackson county budget committee la under way today with George Edward Dunn of Ashland as chairman and George T. Frey of Medford as secretary. George Weeks of McLsod. orchards, and the county court comprise re mainder of the budget committee. Two matters of Interest are sched uled to come before the budget com mittee, a 95000 appropriation for weed control, and the application of county offices for more clerical help the coming year. County Granges, farmers and stock men are expected to make the request for weed control. It has not yet been formally presented. However, the budget committee has investigated the proposition. The application for Increased clerl. cal help Is based upon the business Increase the past two years and is held necessary for speedier handling of county work. The clerical help was reduced heavily as an economy move early in the depression. A member of the budget committee forecast that if any Increase In cleri cal help was granted It would be uni form In all offices. Today's session of the budget com mittee will be devoted to tentative consideration of all Items presented, to enable the budget committee to familiarize themselves with the bud get.
